4.7 million Americans are treated as second-class citizens because they live in a U.S. territory or the nation’s capital. I believe in equal rights for all Americans, wherever they may live within the United States.
Thousands of soldiers from the territories and DC defend democracy abroad while they and their families are denied democracy at home. Their service demonstrates why Americans in these areas deserve full federal representation and equal rights. The right to vote should not depend on where you live.
I support equal rights now for all Americans: equal citizenship, equal constitutional rights, and equal representation. All that should matter is that you are an American—it shouldn’t matter where you live.
